Self efficacy, confidence and achievement, motivation styles when integrating positive or negative reinforcement

Bao. Y (2025) presents a theoretical model to approach parenting styles in high school students. The hypothesis is that out of the authoritative, authoritarian, and punitive styles that authoritative is the best approach because it entails a warm loving environment that increases the students self efficacy and confidence during the most challenging years in developmental education. The method was a two tailed approach making the hypothesis significant because of the physiological tests and psychological testing by administering self efficacy and academic performance data.

Paragraph 2: Bao, Y. (2025)New Article: How does is follow standards and guidelines of the field, is it peer reviewed? Is it relevant? Is it relevant to the topic? What makes this article credible? Why trust this article?

Paragraph 3: New Article: Bao, Y. (2025) Why would the chooses article help inform future research into the topic area of the chosen study? Support your response with responses and examples and support from your chosen studies.

Bao, Y. (2025) research is important to the topic of parenting styles and academic achievement because the data uses statistics and correlation assessments to explain the most influential variable being the students self-belief in themselves which is first fostered in the right at home environment.  The findings assure the empirical model to strengthen the way families refine the approach to parenting. The regression analysis and regression model quantified the correlation analysis using ANOVA.

Paragraph 4: New Article: Bao, Y. (2025) Describe the evidence in the choosen study, how does it contribute to the collective understanding of the topic?

The evidence is presented in the Academic Self Efficacy Scale with a series of questionnaires providing the evidence to improve students academic performance. It contributes to the collective understanding of the topic because previously the research has identified the different methodologies and variables whereas in Bao, Y. (2025) limits the construction framework to one main mediating factor, student self efficacy. The evidence is independent variables, for example, learning behavior. The dependent variables are student motivation and knowledge development. The three main mediators that are associated with learning behavior are animated movies, virtual classrooms, and educational apps.

Paragraph 5: New Article: Bao, Y. (2025) Explain any new conclusions that you could reach about the topic based on the evidence in the study. Based on the evidence what is the conclusion I reached?

A new conclusion reached about student academic achievement and parenting styles is that although punitive reinforce and punishment is structured oriented and reinforces behavior in adolescents, it can decrease self confidence if not followed by the right corrective action. For example a student being punished for behavior then the administrator or parent doesn’t work hands on or follow through with sound corrective action, followed by positive confirmation and embracing the corrective action to increase individual self confidence and self efficacy. Another new approach from Bao, Y. (2025) is that authoritative is the best because it allows the parent to make corrections, explain why you love and care about the child, then complete the corrective action on the task with the child followed by a rewarding statement or action. This process shows that you are being hard on the child because you care about them, more however teaches the child what a loving and caring action is compared to the child only knowing punitive punishment without a reason or positive reinforcement actions from parents and administrators.

Paragraph 6: New Article: Bao, Y. (2025) Predict what future research in the topic area of the chosen studies should be explored.

Future research should explore more statistical evidence to sample sizes in the most crucial years of development for example middle school and high school. It should examine how students with higher levels of confidence and self-efficacy can handle social challenges in the school environment when surrounded by their peers. The research and field of study could benefit from asking the students when they receive a corrective action, what was it followed by, or how was it reinforced or rewarded when behavior was good. Questions that explain how confidence traits trained from parents or administrators effected their ability to take a written or computerized test. Lastly, finding out if the students who received signed exams from the home had better levels of academic achievement compared to parents to did not acknowledge academic success in their household.
